I grew up watching my mother and grandmother turn to nature’s remedies; herbal oils, plants, teas, and balms used to soothe, heal, and nourish. That early connection to nature shaped my understanding of wellness: it should feel simple, intentional, and deeply supportive.

Before Gentle Roots, I worked as a bank manager, a world far removed from natural self-care. But becoming a mother changed everything. I began paying closer attention to the products marketed as “natural” or “gentle,” only to find long ingredient lists filled with synthetic fragrance, unnecessary additives, and ingredients I didn’t feel comfortable using on myself or my daughter.

I wanted something different: skincare that felt honest, multipurpose, and genuinely supportive of skin health.

What I kept returning to was a simple Face & Body Balm - one jar that soothed dry skin, supported eczema-prone areas, worked as a cleanser, and simplified my routine completely. That idea of skin minimalism and multi-purpose care became the foundation of Gentle Roots.

Today, every Gentle Roots product is created with that same philosophy in mind: fewer but better products, purposeful ingredients, and formulations designed to nourish without overwhelming the skin.

I formulate with the bigger picture in mind, creating products gentle enough for sensitive skin, effective enough for mature skin, and simple enough for everyday family life. Most of the range is fragrance-free or only lightly scented where essential oils serve a genuine purpose.

From choosing glass packaging over plastic to refining formulas until they feel just right, every detail is intentional. Gentle Roots is, quite simply, what happens when love, nature, and purpose come together.

What’s Next

Gentle Roots continues to grow slowly and intentionally. I’m always learning, refining, and exploring new ways to create thoughtful self-care that honours both skin and planet.

My hope is that Gentle Roots encourages a gentler, more mindful approach to skincare, one rooted in simplicity, transparency, and care.
